Tell us about yourself and your business.

I’m a Marketing Consultant for Maddie’s Fund. We are a family foundation dedicated to revolutionizing the status and well-being of companion animals. We provide grants and other resources to animal shelters and rescue organizations throughout the United States.

What was your greatest business or sales & marketing challenge(s) before using Hatchbuck?

Unlike a lot of for-profit businesses, we are unique in that we aren’t specifically “selling” anything, nor do we seek or accept donations. However, we wanted to reach as many US shelters and rescues as we could to provide grants and educational resources to help them with their lifesaving efforts. We also needed to reach the public and educate them about ways to get involved (like fostering and adoption), share success stories, etc. We simply didn’t have the sales and marketing tools in place to reach our audience and accomplish our goals.

How has Hatchbuck specifically addressed your challenges?

Hatchbuck has been a perfect CRM tool for us. It’s enabled us to grow our email network and communicate specific content to people based on their tags and interests. The forms and tag actions have also allowed us to streamline our grant and apprenticeship application processes.

What was the big “Ah-Ha!” moment that made you decide you needed to try Hatchbuck?

I used HubSpot prior to working at Maddie’s Fund and knew the benefits of lead nurturing and email marketing automation. When I started, there were several goals for the team that all pointed towards needing a simple, yet effective, CRM and email marketing system (e.g., growing email lists, targeted marketing, enhancing the blog, sharing stories, nurturing “leads” etc). Hatchbuck came up in our research as we were evaluating solutions. So we signed up for a live demo and knew it was a great fit for our nonprofit.

What Hatchbuck features do you find to be the most helpful?

The email templates are really simple to use and you can also duplicate them, which saves a ton of time when creating campaigns. We also love the forms and the reporting section. Being able to easily see email stats such as open rates and CTRs by template and/or date is super helpful. I also love the tags. They’re a great way to segment our contacts to ensure they receive timely email communications from us.
