Material Mix is an easy-to-use exchange platform for waste and recycling professionals with built-in tools for logistics, best practices, and regulatory compliance. At Material Mix, we are creating an online community where waste and recycling professionals can tailor a materials management solution that meets their unique needs. We are dedicated to helping bridge the gap between businesses with excess, undervalued reusable byproducts; and those who seek materials for use as an input in their own production process.

What was your greatest business or sales & marketing challenge(s) before using Hatchbuck?

We work with prospects and clients all over the world, which can make schedule meetings and coordinate calls difficult. Reaching a global community while still remaining capital efficient presents a unique challenge as a startup business. It is important to give each of our clients the personal attention they need, while still maintaining a realistic business development budget. Most importantly, our staff must equally balance time between marketing and daily operations.

What solutions/tactics did you try before you started using Hatchbuck? What were the results?

We were using Zoho small business CRM before Hatchbuck. We spent more time maintaining the software than actually benefiting from the use of it. Moreover, finding and accessing the information we needed was inefficient – there were just too many steps to achieve anything. We also tried Salesforce CRM, which seemed cluttered with features that were not a good fit for a small business like ours.

How has Hatchbuck specifically addressed your challenges?

Hatchbuck marketing software has helped us tremendously.  Today, we are much more efficient in the way we serve our global clients, and can now communicate to them 24 x 7, even when we are out of the office. Also, I would say that adding Hatchbuck to our business has been like adding a marketing assistant to the team, without the additional payroll expense.  Hatchbuck has allowed me to easily grow and manage my network efficiently.

What are the top three features you love about Hatchbuck? Why do you love them?

First, the lead tagging feature gives me the ability to segment my contacts in a customized way, and send content that is specific to their needs. Amazing.

I also love the Dashboard. I keep Hatchbuck open all day to monitoring the engagement of my prospects and add new sales leads.

Lastly, the User Interface (UI). Usability of any software is extremely important to me, which makes Hatchbuck such a great fit. Hatchbuck is intuitive, effortless, and easy to learn.

What was the big a-ha moment when you decided you needed to try Hatchbuck?

When I saw the tagging work for segmentation. We have several unique customer segments we work with. Tagging is my favorite feature because it helps us achieve an accurate, responsive dialogue with each of our customer segments.

What results have you experienced using Hatchbuck?

Our quality of leads has improved greatly and we are now able to deliver relevant content to the people that matter. Tracking the level of interest of each contact helps us provide useful content to our readers, and aids us in identifying customers that are ready for personalized follow-up. Since partnering with Hatchbuck, we have doubled our open rates and experienced a 32% increase in conversion from “leads” to “registered users”.

I started seeing results immediately. Material Mix operates on a capital efficient, data driven strategy.
